Stutz
I watched “Stutz” two days ago. It’s a movie/documentary directed by Jonah Hill portraying the relationship between a therapist and his patient. It’s on Netflix and I highly recommend people to watch it. There is no way for anyone to watch it and not get anything useful away from it.
For me “Stutz” embodied three things:
A portrayal of a wonderful relationship between two people sharing
humour, respect, love and care with each other.
A set of practical tools that is extremely powerful and that I have partially used myself in the past and still do to this day. These tools are simple and made understandable and applicable thanks to Jonah, the patient and Phil, the doctor who are experts in each of their roles.
A piece of art. The effort and talent that was needed to make an appealing movie out of a conversation between two people must have been massive. It turned out great in my opinion, whether that’s the plot, the conversations, the colours or the simplicity of it all. It’s real people, telling a real story, showing real vulnerability. This makes it a real piece of art.
