Sexy Sunday: Dietrich Mateschitz
The sexy thing you deserve this Sunday is Dietrich Mateschitz. He was known for being the co-founder of RedBull. He passed away on October 22, 2022.

Back in Summer 2020 I bought 2 books:
Loosing my Virginity: The Autobiography by Richard Branson
Die RedBull Story: Der Unglaubliche Erfolg des Dietrich Mateschitz by Wolfgang Fürweger
Both of these books had a huge impact on me, in pursuing a path in life of “creating something that lasts, from scratch”. While Richard Branson inspired me to search for adventure, Dietrich Mateschitz proved to me that the skills I had from my time as an athlete meaning hard work, extreme dedication and a healthy amount of stubbornness were transferable into the business world. I remember it to be eye opening but also recomforting at the time.
I was fascinated by how Dietrich Mateschitz and RedBull had taken over the beverage industry and the sport industry. It made me believe that I had to create another beverage company to have the same kind of impact. “Everyone needs drinks” I thought. It seemed to be the right category of product. Later on I learned that it wasn’t 1987 anymore and that 2020 probably needed something else to have the same kind of impact. And that’s what led me to pursue the path Hani is on right now.
I’m a little sad that such an incredible innovator never wrote a book or gave a long form interview. His entire life was very private and he didn’t do many media appearances. I truly believe that there is so much more that we could have learned from him.
