Be Loved
Something that has a soul, is something that can attain the love of others.
This sentence is paraphrased from a passage in Oscar Farinetti’s book “Vino I love you”. For him, the best wine has a soul. I think he’s right, although the term soul itself, I don’t like it. I would replace the word “soul” by “alive”. So something that has a soul is something that is alive.
It means, if I love something, I’m giving it life. And what’s alive and therefore loved is what I truly care about. If something doesn’t have a soul, it’s not alive, it’s not loved, it doesn’t matter and it’s dead.
What gives life is not whether biologically something is dead. It’s whether it’s loved or not. That’s what gives it life. That applies to everything.
Be loved.
