Analyzing my spotify data
It was 01:31 in the morning and I was writing. Lucio Battisti, Kanye West, Henry Moodie, Jack Harlow, Dave, the scorpions and many more were keeping me company. How did all of them end up in the same Spotify playlist? I remembered my friends words: “your playlist is so random”, “ta playlist veut rien dire”, “alter was ist denn mit deiner Playliste los”? Enough, I needed clarity.
I decided to ask a music-loving AI to judge me on my music taste. Hopefully the AI can confirm that I do have the worlds best taste of music. Fingers crossed.
What can I say… I got roasted.

Feeling humiliated and heart broken I needed to find another way to confirm the beauty of my musical taste. How about a receipt of my all time - meaning since I’ve gotten spotify - top 10 tracks.
Uuuhhhg I better keep that receipt for myself. All too well (10 min version) by Taylor Swift? I think I got hacked… or did I?
Screw AI’s or receipts, maybe my music taste is the projection of the hidden soul of an artist? How about a landscape, generated based on the tracks I’ve recently listened to, taking their mood, mode, energy, and key into consideration.
I told you. How beautiful, no? I’m an artist. Van Gogh and homies watch out. But before declaring victory, I needed to see what the analysis of this masterpiece was.
Alright, I’m bipolar then, great….sad and angry. I’m done with this (angry face) and my heart is broken (sad face).
All jokes aside. I had fun exploring the tools that exist online to freely analyse my Spotify data. There is plenty of other tools out there that allow you to do other or similar things.
